Hi Folks:

Do you have any comments on the following? I want to keep this email brief,
so that Krys can forward it. Please respond as quickly as possible.

=============================================
Hi Krys,

Thanks to Rackspace for hosting last night's Happy Hour event, and taking
the time to discuss my request.

First, some disclosure: I am not a member of The Document Foundation. I am
making this request on the Foundation's behalf. As I have a current business
relationship with Rackspace, and am attending SCALE to promote LibreOffice,
it seemed appropriate that I initiate the conversation with Rackspace.

As we discussed, The Foundation is asking Rackspace to donate Cloud Files
services for six months to host an ISO image that contains the current
LibreOffice distribution as well as additional contributed software.

There is a North American ISO image of the current LibreOffice software
suite in production. By "North American" I mean the DVD will contain
language-specific versions of the LibreOffice product in dialects of the
English, French and Spanish languages. In addition to the core LibreOffice
suite, the ISO image will also contain other contributed software.

We expect to have the ISO image ready by the middle to end of March. We
believe that in six months time, The Foundation will have a server online
that will act as the permanent distribution node for this content.

Thank-you for your help bringing this request to the attention of the
Rackspace crew. I'm copyng others involved in this effort to keep them in
the loop.

Best wishes,
Jeffrey Chimene
