I'll reply onlist, as I have incorporated some further changes. Thanks a
lot for letting me know about the issue!
It seems we are not the only one affected, as I have received feedback
from other open source projects stating similar - a new wave of spam
seems to have arrived for wikis.
What I have done now is:
- extended the list of questions to have both the old and the new ones
- enabled the captcha for editing pages, creating pages, and adding
external URLs to pages
- disabled those captchas for autopromoted users
- autopromoted users are those having at least 10 edits *and* at the
same time have been existing longer than five days
While this will probably not disable account creation, it hopefully
rasies the barrier for spamming. Can you have a look if this helps, and
give me a ping in a few days?
Thanks,
Florian
