sadly, Captchas - be it ReCaptcha or a self-generated - didn't turn down
the spam last time, it seems there are mechanisms around that. Moving to
QuestyCaptcha helped a lot for quite a few months, but now it seems the
spammers have found new ways we have to cope with.



What about turning up the complexity on the captcha's?


We have tried all this, the captcha thing didn't work.
Believe me, I have seen a lot of spam in the wiki during all the time:
