No idea whether it is required - but I can tell that three
servers/people make use of it :-)
cloph@bilbo:/var/log$ grep libobox rsyncd.log |awk '{print $8}' |sort |uniq -c
     33 mirror.7he.at
     33 ug-uyst-login.student.uni-goettingen.de
     33 zweiblum.4m2.net

(and I can hardly imagine a solution that would be superior to using
rsync :-) -- apart from maybe an rss feed, since many clients have
rss-support built-in. )
