The user "webmaster@krackedpress.com" is posting this... What do you think about that ??? (read the message compiled below)

The page is on java.com or oracle is not confusing.... as well LibreOffice and TDF if someone start this idea....

Other posts along other lists have strange strange logics too, so my comment about FUDDing and Spam...

Another comment now "on-topic" for the website content:

Always check all links before posting, search along the site "fragmented content" is not good way...

Alex

I wonder why the "All Downloads" page does not have the 64-bit Windows option shown?

I just went to this site and then use their download link to get to
"http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp";. For Windows there is only
two options Online and Offline installs with both dealing with
"jre-6u29-windows-i586-s.exe". So there is not 32-bit and 64-bit
version for Windows.
Calling this site from a 64 windows machine offers this choice. ^^^^

Perhaps a quick read of
http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml#Java%20for%
2064-bit

would help answer some questions.

sorry, but I don't get the point of your post.

This not right:

use the link given by the page for Windows 7,Vista,XP Offline 64 bits. All
Offfline installs - always full archive to install.

Link: http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=56699

Or go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html
As it has been mentioned already: Don't point end-users to those
"confusing" sites. Those sites are meant for java-developers, people
with technology knowlegde, those who understand what is the difference
between a JDK, a JRE, between SE version, between ME version.

This is a primary procedure,
Nope, the primary way to obtain java for the end user is to go to
java.com. That is far less confusing for most people.

For the user below, have you got phising site or are you FUDing the list
???? FUD - FEAR - uncertainty - DECEPTION -
I know the D as in doubt, to spread "fear, uncertainity and doubt"

The citation is from the end-user targeted java page:

Why is Java SE 7 not yet available on java.com?
The new release of Java is first made available to the developers to
ensure no major problems are found before we make it available on the
java.com website for end users to download the latest version. If you are
interested in trying Java SE 7 it can be downloaded from Oracle.com
http://java.com/en/download/faq/java7.xml

And re java 7: there already have been complaints about java not
working despite java being installed - that is because people did
download the wrong version of Java7 from the developers' site.

But back to the original download question, just to make it clear:
* You are allowed to link to the java download at java.com or the
oracle site (but again, please only use java.com for the end-user's
sake)
* You are *not allowed* to copy the java installer to your own server
and provide the download from there (unless you are explicitly
authorized to do so by Oracle)

ciao
Christian
