Hi Michael!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

I am not sure if the community has had the branding discussion yet, (OOo) was a great brand and well established.

Yes, that is true ... some of us helped to shape it. Unfortunately,
there was also a wide variety of names: "", "OpenOffice",
"Openoffice", "Open Office" "Open-Office" :-)

Concerning the branding discussion, here is the page (in progress, but
the name stuff is already put in place - the linked blog posting might
be interesting):

The concern I have with ONLY using the brand LibreOffice is the SEO side of
things. Will everyone be able to find LibreOffice by looking for Libre

True! I hope that anybody looking for "Libre Office" will be able to
find it (currently: Google, third hit is our page). I don't know if
somebody put some effort in search engine optimization already ... the
source-code of our intermediate website doesn't reveal anything special.
But this something up to the experts (which doesn't include myself *g*).

But, since we had to agree to something as a trademark, it really helps
to communicate a consistent name to the public.

Hi Michael!

A warm welcome to this project :-) I think there will be some good
opportunities to work together!

Just on small comment: I noticed that you mention our project on your
website (cool!). A small refinement, maybe? We call it "LibreOffice"
without the space.

Hi to all on the Libre Office website mailing list.
I am very keen to get involved early on the Libre Office project. I
been wanting to get involved with for many years now,
but due
to the lack of community I found it very difficult.

I have a passion for Intuitive Navigation and User Interface
improvements. I
am very interested in collaboration to build a website and software
interface which promotes ease of use, idea generation and community
inclusion from initial contact with the Libre Office project.
