Try to start directly from konsole by

libreoffice26.2

And have a look on the errors, which appear.

Hi Robert,
I installed LO by going to the RPMS folder generated during the zip-
extraction process. I opened a Console and executed (as root) 

rpm -Uvh *.rpm

as instructed in the accompanying LO readme file. No errors appeared
during the installation. (I suppose there might be something in the
journal, but what should one look for?

I do appreciate your help, Robert. Thanks so much!
