Hi Harvey. What version of openSUSE are you running, what is your

I have Leap 16 which installed Libreoffice 25.2.5.2 from the SUSE
repository.

Hi Steve,

I don't think I can help much. /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 --help showed nothing on a couple of machines I have but cat /proc/cpuinfo shows they are at least V2 from the below.

ISA Level,   Key Required Flags to Look For
v1    Basic x86-64 instructions (default for all 64-bit CPUs)
v2    popcnt, sse4_1, sse4_2, ssse3
v3    avx, avx2, bmi1, bmi2, f16c, fma, movbe
v4    avx512f, avx512bw, avx512cd, avx512dq, avx512vl

I would have thought that if Tumbleweed was built with support for V1 processors then Libreoffice connectors for Tumbleweed would have been also. Is your MariaDB set up for SSL/TLS connections to bypass the "TLS/SSL error: SSL is required..." error.

From a google I got;
To connect LibreOffice Base to a MySQL database without using SSL (TLS), you can use the *Direct Connect* method or specific connection parameters in the *JDBC* string.
Option 1: Use the "Connect Directly" Method
The simplest way to bypass complex SSL/TLS configurations is to use the native LibreOffice MySQL driver.

1. *Install the driver*: On Linux (Ubuntu/Mint), ensure the driver is
   installed via terminal:
   |sudo apt install libreoffice-sdbc-mysql|.
2. *Open LibreOffice Base*: Select *Connect to an existing database*
   and choose *MySQL* from the dropdown menu.
3. *Choose Connection Type*: On the next screen, select *Connect directly*.
4. *Enter Server Details*: Provide the server address, port (default is
   3306), and database name.
5. *Test Connection*: Enter your username and password. This method
   typically defaults to a standard connection without requiring SSL
   certificates.

I also see discussions below which might provide some light;
