Hi,
I'm using "Noto Serif" in LibreOffice Writer. But, it looks a bit
crowded. I prefer "Times Roman" style. So, I tried other Serif
fonts,
but not really satisfied.
What font are you using that resembles Times Roman?
Like other Linux users, I stick with the Liberation serif font as a
daily driver. If you want Times New Roman, install the MS TrueType
fonts as suggested. I would also suggest that if you are interchanging
documents with MS users who will not have Liberaion fonts.
Note that TNR is a bit compressed, having been designed for newspapers
who sought to optimize the use of space while maintaining readability.
Georgia (mentioned by another poster9 is a more elegant typeface and
commonly available as it has always been part of the MS package.
For publishing I use a rather new font, free for personal use, low fee
for professional license: Addington CF.
For fun I use a free font: Exo 2.0 that gives a different, somewhat
playful feel while still being easy to read. (Warning: I have no idea
if can be read optically as I have not tested that.)
