Not a Writer form but a Base form?

Yes, correct, I should have said that.

You could open the Base file and start the form by macro when Base file 
has been opened. Is this what you are looking for?

Yes, that's exactly what I'm after.  Can it be done wholly from the
command line - i.e. using command line parameters?
