BTW, one thing that did bother me was when IBM was sending out free OS/2

n.b. I used to be the OS/2 Product specialist at IBM Canada, in the late
90s. I was the top OS/2 support person in the country and used to run
the OS/2 version of StarOffice, which evolved into OpenOffice and
LibreOffice, on my home computer.
I liked OS/2 when I was using it. If I remember correctly I purchased a
copy of version 1.2 really cheap about the time Warp3 was coming out. It
included DB2 and a bunch of development tools and I was able to upgrade
to Warp for free. I can't remember exactly what I did but I would
periodicity get a bunch of cd's with all kinds of interesting stuff on
them. Redbooks, updates, etc. I kept using it through the eComStation
days but finally it got just to hard to use it anymore so I switched to
linux.
