Original file.doc - 0.3 MB with all linked images, as you wrote in
another post in this thread. Ok
If I open the doc and then save as doc-a.odt, the size jumps up by 0.3 MiB to 8.4.
So now you've get doc-a.odt - 8.4 MB.
Probably size increases because all linked images now are included and
no more linked. May you check it?
If I then keep doc-a.odt still open and save as doc-b.odt, the size doesn't move and remains at
the original 8.1.
So now you've get doc-b.odt - 8.1 MB.
Ehm....sorry, you said that "size doesn't move" but you wrote doc-a.odt
was 8.4 MB. May you clarify?
But if I then close doc-b.odt, re-open it and save as doc-c.odt, the size jumps again by 0.3 MiB
to 8.4.
Not so clear for me which jump you are talking about.
doc-b.odt was 8.1 MB and now you say that it starts from 0.3 MB
That seems repeatable. The first 'save as' after opening the file causes the size to increase.
Subsequent 'saves as' with the original kept open doesn't cause a size increase.
But the first step could cause size increment if images are included and
not linked.
Curiously, opening the increased size file, (doc-a.odt which is at 8.4 MiB), and 'saving as'
doc-a2.odt doesn't cause any further size increase. Doc-a2 stays at 8.4 MiB.
It's extremely expected.
