Aaargh! Apologies for my mistake and for the confusion.
My ancient mail client would not handle the Japanese characters
correctly, so I had to replace them with something, and I chose an
ellipsis enclosed in brackets. Unfortunately, although I got the dots
correct in the first case, my second attempt to type this - with
ancient sleepy eyes at 5:43 a.m. local time - generated commas by mistake.
