And Windows users can use this (if you only can remember hexcodes)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicode_input#In_Microsoft_Windows

This makes it possible to enter the hexcode via your keyboard, so you 
will get an "A" when entering ALT  "+" "41" (without the double quotes)
