No, it comes up with OneNote selected as the default. I can change
that, but it's an extra step I feel should not be necessary.

some LibreOffice dialog but directly in Windows 7 ?
I checked that. The Windows default printer is correct.
Do you have the problem for new documents or for existing documents? You can
disable the option "Load printer settings with the document" in Tools >
Options > Load/Save > General, so that LibreOffice does not try to use a
printer setting, which is stored in the document, where the printer might
not be available.
It was for old and new alike, although I took your suggestion.
