It has been a bit, so I do not remember what the fix is. . .

I have Win XP Pro SP3 system that gives me the Windows Installer error
telling me that something is wrong with the Windows Installer, when I
try and install LO 4.0.5 for Windows.

I know that there is some fix out there.

So could someone tell me what that fix was?
I need to get LO installed on that system.

It is a 3+ GHz dual core desktop with 2 GB of Ram and more than enough
drive space.

I just installed XP Professional SP2 and then installed SP3 and over 120
XP updates.

But it seems that I may need to see if there is a newer Windows
Installer package or some other fix.

BUT, MS's web site really does not let you find what you really need for
XP systems easily. I could not find, online, a copy of SP3 so I could
get the updates, then I remembered I had it on a CD in a drawer. So
having to wade through their XP-unfriendly site to try to find a new
installer would be really hard or impossible.

SO
does anyone remember the fix for this Installer error?
anyone know of the like to better XP version of one?

I do not want to have to put MSO 2003 onto that system.
