Do a try, playing with:

Menu/File/Print/General - Pages: 1,2,3,4,7,8,5,6
Menu/File/Print/Pages Layout
- Pages per sheet: custom
             pages: 4    2
- Order: left to right, then down

Oh, good idea with listing the pages in a different order. I would have 
never thought of that. Unfortunately, the second row has to be up-side down.
