Hi Tom,
The 3.5.x branch prefers java 1.7 and apparently that preference has been back-ported to 3.4.5
and also gone into the 3.4.6. For a Mac it's quite important to remove java 6_29 or was it 6_30
asap.
Regards from
Tom :)
Please do not recommend people to start messing with their Java
installations on Mac unless there is a known specific problem. Apple has
released several Java general/security updates recently for OSX versions
prior to Lion, i.e. for Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6), I
haven't checked recently on my Tiger (10.4) box (naughty me) to see
whether that has also been the case.
The current Java version on my Snow Leopard machine (10.6.8) is :
java version "1.6.0_31"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_31-b04-415-10M3635)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.6-b01-415, mixed mode)
This works with LO, pretty good as far as I can tell.
