I checked both the cited spots;
the first, with the non-printing text selected -- hidden is _not_ checked
the second, 'hidden text' and 'text placeholder' are _not_ checked - the
other options under 'contents' are but do not appear to be anything to
cause this problem.

referring to, though I cannot find it in LO, at all.
Format > Character > Text effects ... > hidden.
And Tools > Options > Writer > Print .... > hidden text
