Look for the presence of *.lck files on your desktop, or in your user directories. These files are hidden so are not directly visible in your Finder (or with locate for that matter). There are several apps or scripts available on the internet for revealing hidden files on Mac.

Alternatively/additionally, delete or rename your /Users<username>/Library/Application Support/LibreOffice folder, then restart the application.
