For project management I use...
- taskcoach: http://taskcoach.org/
- gnome time tracker: http://gnotime.sourceforge.net/
- gnome planner: http://live.gnome.org/Planner
- libreoffice calc: home-made spreadsheet

if I wanted gantt charts and other such things, there are
- taskjuggler: http://www.taskjuggler.org/
- openproj: http://openproj.org/

All in all there are quite a few alternatives around, even if you still 
use Windows as your operating system.

As Bruce said, none need to be bundled with libreoffice per sae.
