Hi :)
If you have a spare 15Gb to put another partition on a hard-drive (or something)
then why not install another copy of Ubuntu to use as a beta-testing area? Most
distros are happy with a LOT less but Ubuntu is more comfortable with about that
much space. Then you can beta test a lot of other programs while still being
able to boot into a stable version when you need to. It is also useful if you
need to try out other distros or newer releases of Ubuntu when they happen.
Linux installers cleverly sort the dual/multi-boot thng out for you but feel
free to contact me offlist if you want tips or a walk-through.
Regards from
Tom :)

Subject: Re: [libreoffice-users] Ubuntu user - have the LO PPA, but want to be
"bleeding edge"...
Hi,
I usually extract the latest rc or beta onto "Filesystem" as root. Then I cd to
the folder and run sudo dpkg -iR DEBS/
This seems to have worked well for me. Since I am on Ubuntu 9.10, the PPA
doesn't help much.

What is the recommended approach to use any "nightlies" or other beta

all "on the same page".
Thanks!
