first of all: congrats - LO is a real great piece of software to work with and I support Your
decision to found TDF from the very depth of my heart...

A slight prob arises on my Macs: LO does not recognize my Frutiger Fonts (the original ones by
Linotype), whereas OOO 3.2 or 3.3 did - what can be done?

Welcome to the fold :-) I have had the same problem with certain fonts
not appearing in the fonts list and this list varying depending on
whether I am using LibO, OOo or NeoOffice. It is very frustrating to
start working on a document that happens to have a font which shows up
on the font list of one of the apps, only to find that if, for whatever
reason, you open that same file up in another ODF compliant application,
you do not have access to the same font and thus font substitution takes
place. The behaviour seems erratic to me so it is hard to pin down to
any particular origin. Perhaps, it lies in my user config settings.

There used to be an X11 utility that shipped with OOo called spadmin.
This was a shell script that called up a printer configuration dialogue
where you could import fonts specifically into OOo. However, I think
that this utility has been done away with when OOo switched to the Mac
CUPS subsystem for printing management. I still see a link on my Mac OSX
system to it, where it is called spadmin.sh, but this is in my git
source code repository, and not in any of the installed application
executables, so you probably wouldn't find it on your system.

I take it that the fonts in question are visible generally in other Mac
applications ?

Alex
