I have not had time to read the link

I have been in and out all day doing a lot of other stuff.

I printed out the web page of the link and placed it on my "to read" paperwork for when I get time to sit down and read things like that.

Hello Tim,

The point is not pictures. The point is to keep this list from being a
parlor, hijacking threads and generally disrupting the work. So far,
this list produces very little work. But it does produce an inordinate
amount of talk. We are actually putting an end to this and are looking
to attract volunteers who are motivated to contribute. to specific

I'd be happy if you had some feedback on the marketing workshop
proceedings though.

Some people do not think that a photo montage is part of marketing.
Photos and other images are very much a part of the marketing concepts
for many businesses. Without them you would not have any TV or Print

We all have out preferences on which images would look good together. I
have not seen the photos, or actually know where they are being
displayed [which page, etc.] but we really should show the "human" side
of LO. It it our people who make LO what it is, from the developers to
the person who is promoting it locally.

Actually, for photos, I use Jalbum photo gallery software [free] to
create online photo galleries and slide shows for organizations. It
takes the original size of photos and then automatically create a
version the size I want [say 640 by 480 px] displayed on the web page,
plus the thumbnails and all of the HTML controls. Then if I want to add
or remove a photos, I just press the "make changes" option and it
quickly does the work for me. It is much easier than any other method I
have tried to use for placing a whole lot of photos online. I have 4
years of photos from many different events for an organization, over
1,400 of them. Without a package like Jalbum, it would not have been
easy to add an event and its photos to the gallery for that year [say
2009 Christmas Party to the 2009 photo gallery].

I have seen many companies use photo galleries, maybe even Jalbum, to
promote their product line, artwork, or other "things" that could use
photos or images in a gallery presentation. Impress does similar slide
presentations, but offline. We are not saying we should not use images
and photos with Impress to create a promotional presentation for LO, so
why not have an online "gallery" of slides do the same thing?

Hi :)
Seems that i am going to be blocked from posting on this list any more. The person that wants to
block me has stated off-list that it's because suggesting pictures for a montage on the Home page
is nothing to do with marketing.

It has been fine for other people to give suggestions and to show pictures. It's just not allowed
for me, or perhaps it's the choice of pictures. Either way i can think of better reasons for
blocking someone from a marketting list.

Good bye and good luck!

Looked like some more really nice pics. Looking at the ones along the bottom of your email - i

Very active and packed conference

Needed better lighting and flash but could probably be edited by someone if picked.

Group shot (or is that OLPC?)

A Venue?

People active and engaged with whatever is going on

A lecture, quite well attended!

Just attractive/interesting, friendly people. The aftermath or preparing?

Candle lighting ceremony? Very symbolic and intriguing

The Flickr ones had some more great shots and some of the same ones. Not everyone wearing jeans
and t-shirts so people here might be uncomfortable with some of them.
