Andrea et al.,
I love your enthusiasm towards templating. As a professional end user
of the software I find that more often than not I am either using or
creating document and presentation templates that I use over and over
in the course of a year or so. I believe that templates are an
essential part of the branding and marketing of LibreOffice as a
professional level product. Personally I would love to see some more
graphically intensive presentation templates and highly professional
document layouts being presented within the LibreOffice Brand within a
few weeks of the official template website/repository launch.

As a part of my Drupal website structure development this was
envisaged as Marc has mentioned, sitting side by side with LibreOffice
extensions and Themes (icons and interface colours at the moment). The
importance of a unified community within LibreOffice will become more
important over time as the requirements of extensions, themes and
templating/layout design pushes the boundaries of what the product is
currently able to achieve. In integrating the community in such a way
it becomes very familiar to approach a different section of YOUR
community rather than having to introduce yourself into another
community or a functionally separated branch of the community.

As you can see from the Drupal website design brief the structure will
allow for the complex categorisation and searching of templates as is
the case with the OOo repository. I would be interested to see if
anyone has strong views for or against the website structure that I
have proposed from a marketing or templating point of view and as you
can see from the vibrance of the Drupal development wiki there is
endless possibilities when it comes to implementing the Drupal website
infrastructure.

The Drupal development site before it launches as libreoffice.org in
around 4-6 months. - it is not themed yet, but some of the structure
is there. I will be working on the extension and templates section
over the coming week

Any feedback on the proposal that we are currently designing from is
greatly appreciated.
