If my rant was not clear, I don't think Base, as a database engine, is
suitable for anything. Which is why I brought up SQLite.
I believe Base itself is no database engine at all, but instead uses
an embedded HSQLDB engine as default engine. HSQLDB is a relational SQL
database engine written in Java.
Base can use a lot of different (also non-Java) database engines and
seems to me to be quite flexible.
