Hi,

Regarding the problem of finding the strings in Weblate, the "key-ID" language pack can be a great
help: If you know where in the user interface the string is seen, you can find it's key-ID. For
some reason, the key-ID language pack is not available in release versions of LibreOffice, but you
can install a beta release from the archive of old LO releases found here:
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

Once the beta (or alpha, if you prefer) version of LO is installed, change the language for the
user interface to "key-ID". This gives you a somewhat ugly, but useful, interface: The English user
interface with the key-ID's prefixing each string. For instance, the menu "File" is shown as
"GhjEq||File".

In Weblate, the corresponding string can be found by using Search with "note:" prefixing the
key-ID, e.g. searching for
        note:GhjEq
gives the string for the File menu.

I have personally found this very useful to track down strings, especially those that are found in
very many places, like "file", "edit", "view", etc.

Good luck on finding the strings, you are looking for.

Regards,
Lars

Hi,

Just following up on our last email on March 6 and Christian's suggestion to report any issues
promptly, we wanted to update you on some more strings remaining untranslated in the pre-release
25.2.2 Italian UI.
Specifically, they are located in:

Tools>Customize window>Notebookbar>Target>All Commands (UI>Tabbed)

The drop-down list contains the command names in English, e.g., View Tab; View Tab | View, etc.

We looked for the corresponding strings in Weblate, but could not find them, so we thought they
might be hard-coded

Please look into this issue before the next release.

Thank you very much.

Elisabetta, Valter, Marco and the team
