Hi :)
Perhaps;

"select the Java Runtime Environment to be used by %PRODUCTNAME"

I think that is going off-track a bit and heading towards the original inelegance?  Its a bit
difficult to tell
without more context.  It looks like it's a paragraph in a 3rd party
app, perhaps inside a JRE configuration utility?  I think Sophie's was the most elegant answer so
far (in English) and i can't imagine anyone improving on that.

Regards from
Tom :)

Or maybe just:

"...select the Java runtime environment used by %PRODUCTNAME"

We have

The %PRODUCTNAME configuration has been changed. Under %PRODUCTNAME -
Preferences - %PRODUCTNAME - Advanced, select the Java runtime
environment you want to have used by %PRODUCTNAME.

This sounds weird... "you want to use" sounds better for me. What have I
missed?
