Most of the actual "work" on documents, yes.

(Except that Calc has for some years been able to use OpenCL (and thus
parallelism, on the GPU even) for some calculations, on platforms where
supported well enough. There is also work ongoing to make Calc calculate in
parallel using "plain" threaded code, i.e., not using OpenCL or any other
"extra" technology.)
