Update.

Akhiran -i dan apitan meN-i
-i suffixes and meN-i circumfix
all possible particles and possessive pronoun combination
What these do:
remove certain hyphens on words that ended with the letter i and those that takes the suffix -i and
circumfix meN-i
example:
1) me-ra-wat-i-nya > me-ra-wati-nya
2) be-ra-ni-nya > be-rani-nya
This should not affect words that end with the letter i that takes the suffix -kan and circumfix
meN-kan
example
1) be-ra-ni-kan > be-ra-ni-kan.
This is not the ideal solution, that requires a word list of all words that would take the -i and
meN-i affixes and/or a word list of words that ended with the letter i. But it should work.
(Theoretically. Need testing).

Hi Sharuzzaman,
No, I'm not in KL, and not expecting to be there anytime soon. I'll leave the packaging details to
you then? On recollection, I did use the files from l10n-ms to get started the first time round,
but they no longer work with current versions.

Hi Bashirah,
OK, let's do this together. I'll try to find out how to properly package a dictionary and let's
built a beta version to be tested by Malaysian.
You may contact me off this mailing list if you want to.
By the way, are you somewhere around KL? If you are, maybe we can have a face-to-face meeting with
the open source people who might be interested to join.
Thanks.

Hi, Sharuzzaman,
Clarification: All the way back when it was version 1 or thereabout of Open Office I started
working on the hyphen dictionary - by the time I stopped about a year later I've already have
outlined all the work needed, so when I looked again at it mid this year I can and have followed
my notes to finish it. It's finished, or at least theoretically usable.
What I need is technical help - right now its a plain text file since have no idea how to
integrate it to Libre Office or even where to upload it. (Do I just attach it to the mailing
list?). Furthermore, and this is something I've been wondering about, it will need to be tested
against a lot of texts to make sure it's actually usable, and that is not something I have. Is it
better to have a small pool of testers (your team, if they are available) first or do we just put
it out and fix it along?
A major issue is the fact that I've completely ignored proper nouns by design. Adding them would
be fairly easy, if tedious, but a list of common proper nouns would be necessary if you have it.

Hi Bashirah,
I'm from Malaysia, and a member of Malaysian Open Source community.
Long time ago, we already embarked on the project to provide native Malay translation of the menu,
and also dictionary for OpenOffice, but it was never completed. The project is l10n-ms in
sourceforge.
If you need any help, do let me know. I will gather back the team, and hopefully we can complete
this.
I'm also not familiar with the technical setup. I'm sure someone in this list would be able to
help.
Thanks.

Hi, a few months ago I picked up a really old project of mine. My notes were enough to complete
it, but now it needs testing and I'm at loss as to how proceed. Please assume a very rusty
skillset.
Furthermore, if it's of interest, it is tailored to the Malaysian Melayu Baku ideal, so this it
might not be useful much for Indonesian, at least without much modifications.
