The advantage is that if you would tag Beta5 for release TODAY it would
already include the switch that prevents is from overwriting the stable
build since that has already been committed.

It was committed to master not the libreoffice-3-4 (beta) branch. It
will work for the 3.5 release cycle only. It has just came too late
for 3.4, sorry.
