A really old OOo request is issue 972:

of formula and text in writer" 
This was also reported for LibO
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32241
The dev versions for OOo 3.4 include a patch (see original OOo issue) that
fix this 9 years old problem. Will this patch be included on LibO?
