configure: error: Autoconf 2.61a-341 or better is required.

However, the preceding step to installing automake is to install
autoconf-2.68. Any hints ? The autoconf / automake saga has always been
a PITA for me before when I was building on BSD, and I've also had
problems with it in the past on Mac OS Tiger.

Hi Alex,

hm, depending on whether you build new-style or old-style (via the
libreoffice/build repo), the prereqs are autoconf 2.50 (and any
suitable automake), or autoconf 2.51 plus automake 1.8b

So you may get away with downgrading your automake to 1.8b. If that
works, please update the wiki. It seems your automake configure only
takes up the automake shipped by XCode or something - maybe a path
issue?

FWIW, I have here (on 10.4): automake 1.10.1, autoconf 2.62

Cheers,
