to getting the build environment up and running on my Mac OSX Snow Leopard, but I've hit a snag with automake. When I go to configure automake 1.11.1, I get this error message and obviously configure bombs out : configure: error: Autoconf 2.61a-341 or better is required. However, the preceding step to installing automake is to install autoconf-2.68. Any hints ? The autoconf / automake saga has always been a PITA for me before when I was building on BSD, and I've also had problems with it in the past on Mac OS Tiger.
Hi Alex, hm, depending on whether you build new-style or old-style (via the libreoffice/build repo), the prereqs are autoconf 2.50 (and any suitable automake), or autoconf 2.51 plus automake 1.8b So you may get away with downgrading your automake to 1.8b. If that works, please update the wiki. It seems your automake configure only takes up the automake shipped by XCode or something - maybe a path issue? FWIW, I have here (on 10.4): automake 1.10.1, autoconf 2.62 Cheers, -- Thorsten
