[libreoffice-design] Minutes from the UX/design meeting 2025-Oct-22

 * Word completion privacy/security: Do not collect words from
   password-protected documents

   + option to remove collected words is available (Stuart)
   + words are not stored in the document but the list is generated
     or amended when loaded; question is whether we want potentially
     privacy-relevant words to be loaded (Heiko)
     + could be solved by disabling the "[ ] Collect Words" checkbox
       temporarily (Heiko)
   + do not even enable for ordinary documents neither on load nor
     on type, resp. disable by default (Eyal, Phillip, Ted)
     + maybe a switch for various settings between privacy-focused and
       convenience oriented users (Phillip)
   + privacy is paramount; setting is potentially unknown (John)

 * Support conditional ignoring of some aspects of cell text for
   autocomplete matching

   + way too much fine-tuning (Heiko, Jan)
   + other languages than Latin-based require this, eg. the punctuation
     of אֱיָל vs. אי (Eyal)
   + MS Excel distinguishes between with/without punctuation
   + could imagine some Levenshtein on/off switch (Heiko)
   + but we need to fine-tune the search (Eyal)
   + we need to support the non-Latin community (John)

 * Interpret long/repeated mouse clicks with no movement as attempt
   to access backwards object

   + interesting idea (Stuart)
   + going through the z-order is done per alt+left click;
     gestures are not suited on desktops in general (Heiko, Jan)
   + implement the alt+click interaction for sw/sc too (Regina)
   + everything should be discoverable (John)
   + long press goes into some drag mode where together with ctrl
     it's possible to copy objects (Heiko)
   => resolve WF

 * Ability to import and export a chart's color palette
   + https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168809
   + introduced recently without reference to Bugzilla in
     https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/184265
     + import/export probably comes later
   + dislike the multitude of palettes (tools > options > chart > palette,
     color palettes: chart palette, chart theme, etc.) and would appreciate
     one, either providing all colors or just a subset - but one type
     of extension/integration (Heiko)
   + use case of having one look and feel across different charts
     is not questionable (Eyal, Heiko)
   + colors should be stored in the document (Sahil)
   => to new, and make aware to developers
