Im for the one button being a drop down, iv been wanting this to be one
button for some time. to me the slider/button with a slider drop down
sounds like a bad idea.

So far, in LibreOffice, there are three buttons for line spacing. These are
1, 1.5, and 2.0 . However, I feel that since these are all performing
similar task, and will never be used simultaneously, they need to be
changed from their button form. Alternatives are, something like a drop
down menu (like the one for font size), two-buttoned approach (Increase
linespacing and decrease linespacing) or a slider bar which you can adjust
to change the line spacing value.

In my opinion, the slider menu will be most ideal.

However, looking at the negatives, a slider menu occupies more space than
buttons. For this, we could instead have a line spacing button, and on
click, it reveals a vertical slider which can then be adjusted to set the
linespacing.

Hi *,

There is an idea, rough draft, for a T-shirt print.
Anyone here that could help with making a proper design (suitable for the
printer) out of that?

Cheers,

Maybe you can tell the graphic's sizes.

Ah yes, the rough draft I mentioned is here
http://wiki.**documentfoundation.org/File:**LibreOffice_TShirtIdea_**

http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:LibreOffice_TShirtIdea_cornouws.jpeg

I put it on paper when there was no reply on the private marketing list.

But I think the existing design looks great for brand recognition.

Only problem will be with the production, since the print goes to the
sides of the shirt.
Will be expensive, and with different sizes, you'll need two print runs
(one for the background at the side and the other for the logo in the
centre).

Ideas?

Hi :)
It is better to post different questions as new threads with an
appropriate subject-line.

1. Bullet Lists

When your cursor is in a list there is usually a pop-up icon menu. If
you explore what the buttons do then i think you will find most things
except the re-order the list by criteria.

2. Larger icon sets
For the part about using larger icons i have tried forwarding the email
to
the Design Team. They probably already have some clever icon sets and
some
pretty neat tricks for swapping out sets.

3. Removing all graphics
If you save the original as .Odt before converting to non-native formats
such as .Pdf or .Doc then there are often neat tricks. With .Odt and
.DocX
you can re-name the file-ending to .Zip and then open with an archive
manager. Even without renaming the file-ending you can right-click and
choose an archive manager such as WinRar or WinZip or something. One of
the folders inside the archive contains the graphics.

4. Wish-list
Post each idea as a normal bug-report
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
Obviously not all the guidelines are relevant but it gives a rough idea
of
some things you might want to include (or add as comments later). One of
the drop-downs gives an option like "feature request" or something.
Perhaps add "[wish-list]" into the subject-line?

Regards from
Tom :)

Hi all,

using Libre Office 3.4.4

I was wondering if it was possible to create an easy in document list
manipulation.

Setting: Several bullet points below each other. (also for numbered list)
Features:
a) Move the individual entries up and down the list (not the hierarchy
just the position) with a click.
b) Order the List according to different criteria.

Secondly, I would like to have bigger Icons. Unfortunately the option
"big" and "small" for the icons has no effect on them whatsoever. I
also don't want to scale everything (as in the scale option) but just
the icons. If I understand it right, the scale option uses GPU power
all the time?

So what would be great would be Icons that I can expand up to 80 x 80
pixels, without using the GPU and without modifiing other menu
components.

Thirdly I was looking for a function that lists all the graphic
objects (lines, arrows, text-boxes, smilies etc.) with the possibility
to erase every object at once, or change the text-flow around each
object at once etc. I need it for example after converting pdfs to doc
and then erasing all the unneccesary graphics stuff.

And fourth. Is this the right place to post such a wish-list or is
there a hierarchical sorted official wish-list somewhere around?

Thanks.

Martin

By "outside of the document", Łukasz means "on the margins". In MS
Word
2007
and newer you can place text in the header/footer that is on the
margin.
Honestly, I can't decide if this is great idea or just stupid.

Anyway, there has been some changes about headers and footers in LO

resolves Łukasz's issue, since I use only stable releases. There are

Well, come see how libre office 3.5

Hi Martin, Tom,

Tom said this:
2. Larger icon sets
For the part about using larger icons i have tried forwarding the email
to the Design Team. They probably already have some clever icon sets and

Hm, this is a bug (and I know it is, but it would be neat if you could
research if it is already reported). The larger icons won't appear
unless you also choose a different theme. So, to get bigger Tango
icons, do the following: go to Tools, Options, View. Now choose Large
and then switch from e. g. "Tango (Automatic)" to "Tango" (or any
other option, "Galaxy"'s large icons for instance are slightly larger
than Tango's large size).

Martin said that:
So what would be great would be Icons that I can expand up to 80 x 80
pixels, without using the GPU and without modifiing other menu
components.

LibreOffice has well over 4000 different icons, some of them
duplicates, some of them with odd names like "envvl_l.png" ("envelope
von links, large") arranged in folders with odd names. It also doesn't
support SVG icons. Currently, we have small 16*16 icons and large
22*22/24*24/26*26 icons (varying by theme).
So, for now, there are no 80*80 px icons. I hope most of the will
change some time soon, though.
If you are more interested in icon themes, here's a pointer to a bug:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=30425 .

About the other things, it would be great if you could add them as
bugs in Bugzilla (unless they exist, of course). Also, why not
subscribe to the design team list, if you're interested in making some
of your ideas into specs..?

Regards,
Astron.
