because of technical issues with the searching in the PloneSoftwareCenter, which
searches through the whole Extension-Template-Repository-Site and display under "any
category" all extensions and templates, I decided to create a second site to split
off the two parts.
Thanks for your explanation. Even if this is more a topic for the
website list: Does this mean that sub-categories are not possible with
the PloneSoftwareCenter?
There are already some sub-categories listed on the wiki page:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Extensions-website#Categories_for_templates
If it would be possible to have Extensions and Templates as main
categories (I'd add Galleries as third one in future), all the present
categories could be moved to sub-categories.
Depending on plone several level of sub-categories might be possible and
searchable, but I don't have any idea of the background.

another one for the template part).
Understood - at least for the moment there is no other possibility.
The two sites inside one zeoserver are currently up and running (but not under the
final URL).

Mmh, I've thought a bit about the slash-dotted line - how to combine
what we currently have, or what we can do about the recent template
icons, the old icons (still used in some places) and the template
repository logo. So, here are some ideas open for discussion (if you
like).
Idea 1: How about turning the characters for "Extensions& Templates"
into the known items puzzle piece (='X') and spiral binding (=left side
of 'E'). This would match the recent LibO styling.
What about stressing more the x in extension like a big green X (Xtension) in the
mode of an eyecatcher?
Something like I did in my first proposal?
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/File:LibO_Extensions_Templates_Logo.png
We could do the same with the T for templates in the other site.
Andrew already created a combined logo with (modified) triangles:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/cgi_img_auth.php/1/1e/Templates_logo.svg
Based on the scatter motif he combined triangles to outline "X" and "T"
- perhaps they can be divided into two logos.
(I still don't feel too comfortable with using the triangles - even with
rounded corners as in the document symbols and motif - in regular
patterns like 90° rotation, the motif gets it's vivid and friendly
expression by the unordered overlapping arrangement of different sized
triangles. But as I can't provide better proposals, I won't complain...)
Best regards
Bernhard
