That's what I thought too.

I am not able to try my hand at anything at the moment but I would recommend
you try horizontal binders, similar to the small icon.  Perhaps a gradient
can give the binders a 3D ring effect.

Do you mean "comb binders" (finally found after some googling...)?

They might be less prominent, but still recognizable.

Some spiral bindings might be worth looking at too, especially if the spirals are less prominent than the holes. Something like this:

I'd like to see a more detailed image for larger versions, but still stylized like all our branding material.

If anybody has the time to volunteer for a first draft of one or another binder image (sorry, Jaron, that you can't :-( ), this would be great!
