Hi Ivan, hi Bernhard!
Sorry for being a bit late - a neighbor stopped by, and a small chat
ended up in a three hours discussion.

One point I realized: Your icons are broader than the TDF logo.
I don't know if this is on purpose, but if we want the icons be based on
the logo (I'll reply to Christoph's mail on this topic), proportions should
be the same IMHO.
Hmm... I used Christoph's 16x16 icons from the SVG he emailed us -
maybe it needs some small adjustments if it seems wider. There was no
(intentional) transformation on my part.

I have to admit, that I did that some weeks ago. When I worked on the
favicon (browser icon for the location bar), I stretched it to the
maximum size to improve the visibility. In such a small size, the
transformation is less problematic - visibility was more important to
me.

That is probably the darkest of them all, because the Calc icon uses
the darkest colors for the outline; I would like to use slightly less
dark colors which is why I suggested small adjustments to the color
table. But I realise that it is at least partially subjective and
partially due to monitor settings/calibration, etc. It's never simple
:)
Yep :-) And I really hope nobody will ever read the following:
Personally, I'm fine with tweaking the palette a bit (e.g. using colors
in-between the given ones) if we create the icons. At the moment, time
is more important than one or two value adjustments ... which by the
way, can even be done afterwards.
I created my second version [B - left icons] with the unmodified color palette.
Here on this monitor th corners look similar bright in blue and green, while
the gradients of the inner fill are different on the document icons: green looks
lighter than blue (but similar in the darker gradients on the application icons).
And here I should take the opportunity to comment on your designs - I
really like the different styles you used for application, document
and template icons. They also let us test the colors more thoroughly.
Not much more to add than a +1.
What I miss at the moment, is a bit more contrast for the left
application icons (in Draft1_2.png).
I think the inner shadow effect should be used sparingly (only used
for the application symbol?) and only apply to icon sizes over 32x32
(to add some extra detail for larger icons).
+1

Mmh, wasn't there any proposal for a chat tomorrow (okay, today) at 9 pm
(Berlin local time)? I searched my whole inbox, but it seems my mobile
may have dropped it ... or I am getting insane. So is this still valid?
I think it is a great idea to discuss some of the issues in
"real-time". But, since (especially tomorrow) will be a hard day at
work, please start if I miss that chance ... And it would be great if
Thorsten (plus some others) could join as well, at least, if there is a
chat.
Good night everyone!
Christoph
