Hallo Bianca,
mir scheint, dass die Spracheinstellung in den Vorlagen fehlt. Unten in der Statuszeile wird die Sprache nur für den markierten Text geändert. Wenn Deine Standardeinstellung aber unter 
Format → Zeichen → Schrift → Sprache
nicht entsprechend an eine Sprache gebunden ist, zu der Du ein Wörterbuch dabei hast (erkennst Du an dem kleinen "ab" mit Häkchen vor der Sprache), dann kann die Rechtschreibprüfung auch nichts finden.
Leider ist die Ursprungsmail wieder als Antwort auf einen anderen Thread raus gekommen …
