Mein "Senf":
Modul = wenn man über den sourcecode spricht, da entsrpeicht jedes
Hauptverzeichnis einem "modul".
Komponente = wenn es um das fertige Produkt geht, dann kann man aber
es meist auch gleich beim Namen Nennen (Writer, Calc,....)
(Diesen Standpunkt bzw. diesen Wortgebrauch finde ich persönlich am
passendsten.)

Der Kontext hat gefehlt, sorry: es geht (natürlich) um die Getting
Started-Übersetzung, also ein einführendes Handbuch, zwar für Anfänger-
Anwender geschrieben, aber die sollen ja durchaus auch was dabei lernen
:-)
