IMHO, nothing wrong with throwing it out on the discussion thread (again) to keep it live, expect to be told by some that it has already been discussed. If you want to make your point on this, put it out at that point, and, if you think you can present a good solid case for it, add it to the "ideas" wiki page for future reference. It will come up again for sure. I know as an educator, this is also what I would want with LibreOffice, and, more in particular, if this were even possible on a LAN as well as on the net.

Thank you for the comments, Marc.

From what I gather, the discussion list would be the main venue for getting a feature request vetted. I also understand this particular topic has been hashed out before. I guess I'll lurk a bit on the list while waiting for an opportunity to reintroduce (or sustain) the idea.

As far as the 'ideas' wiki page, are you referring to the following?

With respect to "even possible on a LAN," I'm not sure the engineering requirements would be any simpler on a LAN as opposed to the Internet. Interesting idea though.

I'd hoped the post I'd made would be considered a good, solid case. Do you have any recommendations for making it such?

Again, I appreciate the comments. I'm hoping to make a lasting and positive contribution through my efforts here.

Best,
-Craig

Hi Craig

You can find the page on the marketing wiki page [http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Marketing#Ideas_and_In-Work_Topics]

Cheers
