The title pretty much says it all. What do people think about the
download experience of LibreOffice? How can it be improved?

1. There is a "download now" button on the homepage. It lies. It currently
is
  a go-to-some-other-page-then-click-Download-again button.

True - but when you want a one-button solution, then you also mustn't
forget about the non-windows case, where users most likely will
download two files: The main installer and the languagepack.

Windows might work one-button style, and have help as
separate/optional one/just be fine if they don't have offline help,
but non-windows user want the UI in their language, so will always
have to download two times.

That being said: A one-Button DL is doable, since the DL-Donate
combination basically works that way already, click on the main DL,
and get to another one that offers the additional ones.

But a "only download one single file" won't work - non-english users
will very likely download two files.

A "single click" will only be a "single click to start main download,
but then redirect to another page with more or less optional
downloads"
