Hello,

I have good news for everyone. ;-)

As Alex is still extremely swamped with work on his own business (and
terribly sorry for not having more time for TDF at the moment, he told me),
we have decided to handle the AskBot issues via the AskBot authors directly,
on a paid project basis.

Sounds great! Evgeny (the primary dev) is very responsive and has been
quite helpful with the q's I've asked. The latest version of askbot
includes a lot of neat features, including a couple of fixes that
Evgeny put-in within about an hour of me asking about them.

They will setup a fresh AskBot instance, add localization features, improve
the theming, and ideally also implement some of the desired features.

Nifty. There are some key pieces that would be really helpful (e.g.
some kind of status like 'NEEDINFO') that we could definitely discuss
with them. The Fedora folks also use Askbot, IIRC, so perhaps we could
pool some funds if there's a big feature we both want.

Olivier got in touch with them and asked for a quotation, on which I will
ask for budget authorization from the infra budget soon.

This will then also help us to add more localizations and languages to
AskBot.

Super. It would be great to have more than just EN and PT-BR in the
localization list :-)

I've got a bit on my plate, but if there's a proposal document or time
to discuss fixes/features, I'd more than happy to help.

danke,
