Hello,
finally, I spent the day with preparing the update for our mailing list
manager software, mlmmj, on our shiny new server.
The update to the new version will bring a few benefits:
- the localization of the list texts (like for subscribing and
unsubscribing), where the LibreOffice community has greatly contributed
to, will be included
- messages held for moderation can now also be rejected; formerly it was
only possible to ignore them, they were automatically rejected seven
days later
- unsubscribing now works with a simplye -unsubscribe address for all
subscription type; no need to use the annoying -unsubscribe+digest stuff
anymore
- subscribing to a different list type than the user had before (e.g.
from regular to digest) now changes the subscription type, and doesn't
subscribe to both at the same time
- the message to be moderated now is attached to the moderation mail,
rather than only showing the first 100 lines MIME-encoded
All in all, the new release should cure most of the pain we have been
experiencing so far. I didn't manage yet to have a look at the web
interface, so manual unsubscription still requires involvement of infra,
but at least - see my previous mail - I've now managed to enable sending
subscriber lists out for list owners.

The mailing lists have *not* yet been migrated to the new version, it
requires some manual intervention, and I will do this in bulk packages
within the next days.
For testing, I have migrated the - nomen est omen - test mailing list
already, plus made *everyone* from the moderators@ list also moderator
there, so you can play with the new features yourself.
As it is 83 people at the moment, please use it wisely.
*****************
The migration may result in the fact that our own mailing list archive
(listarchive.documentfoundation.org respectively
listarchive.libreoffice.org) might be out of date for a few days until
I've synchronized that again; all external archives like GMANE will stay
in sync automatically.
In theory, the new mlmmj version also allows to inform people when their
post is held for moderation. Given that this can create a serious spam
problem ("backscatter", by sending out mails with someone else's
address), I have disabled it.
Feel free to poke me for any questions you may have,
Florian
