I think this is indeed a key message. I have removed the current 
donation meter out of two reasons: (1) The campaign is rather old 
(started half a year ago, last October) and (2) we have changed to a 
"donate while downloading" style page.

What has been proposed a few times already, and I think makes a lot of 
sense, is to have time-limited, concrete and individual campaigns. They 
might be targetted towards certain topics for example, but it needs to 
be time-limited to make it an eye-catcher on our website.

Developing that still is in the works, but I hope we can work on this 
soon. :)
