so, I've tried to manually invoke the convert command, and it produced 
the right file. I've also removed any limits that might cause the 
issues, but still, it doesn't work.

Might be a problem with MediaWiki itself. Unfortunately, I need to 
slowly pack for CeBIT now, so I cannot have a look at it today. I'll try 
to check the latest when I return Friday evening.
