It's a combination of static background-image + bar that is drawn dynamically.

So in that case, one would need:
* The banner with pig, motif, the amount/scale (I'd only go up to 200K
btw) and emtpy/white rectangle to draw the bar in.
* The image for the marker (the triangle that is at the end of the amount-bar)

The green bar would then be drawn on top of the image using a <div> and css.
As it uses a gradient, I'd love to get some help with cross-browser
compatibility testing.

I created a small jsfiddle with a a mini-bar:

The intended display is to get a partially filled bar, the filled part
should be a gradient just like in the proposal, i.e. from green to
white to green.

If the bar is red instead, then the style to render the gradient in
your browser is missing. Newer versions of firefox, opera, chrome &
safari should be covered, but I have no idea since what versions the
browsers do support the property, and even less so how IE does display
it.
