Can someone please reply with some kind of information on how a new page
can be added to the LibreOffice website?

You'll have to register an account here
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/forums/

so we can unlock author permissions for a start.

Okay so I have done this, can you unlock author permissions or is there
something I need to do before that?

Like? :)

Your login https://www.libreoffice.org/admin/

The Help tab shows some general infos on the use of Silverstripe, some
extras are here http://website.libreoffice.org

Once your page is ready you'll have to request publishing until it seems
you know what you´re doing. ;) (= author permissions)

Publishers will get your request by workflow email and listed at the
reports tab in the left admin panel.

Cheers
Erich
