Christian is that better?
Yes, now I can see the posts again. Thanks.
Ciao
Christian
My apologies i forgot to add the guest group to the allowed
permissions
Does PM need turning on for all users? Mine says "*We are sorry, but
you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just
registered here and may need to participate more to be able to use
this feature."*
Not sure actually. wouldnt something like this be a good thing to
have it left as is as it would be a way to encourage participation
and get people to post in the forums
I don't think it really matters. We are trying to make the use of
forum as easy as possible for our users. This would only be another
hurdle for newcomers. They would not be able to PM people if they are
in real need of help.
I notice that JForum PM is on for everyone.
Marc
I am at a total loss in regards to getting pms enabled.
Hi Jonathan, Marc, et al
By default PM's are disabled for the new-registered-users group - of
which Marc is currently a member - you can change this by configuring
group permissions (much much preferred to changing permissions per
user). Also, the platform supports 'roles' and the best practice is to
assign rights to roles and then assign roles to groups - this way, when
there exceptions to be granted they can be done by creating a special
role, change permissions for the new role and then assign that role to
the user account, without changing their group membership.
Also
- I've added you and me into the Admin group, with Alex as the group
lead.
- Also added you into the global moderators group, as the group leader.
