I noticed today, while working with a 32-bit DEB based server,
that when I go to the download page for 3.4.4, the page chooses
32-bit RPM instead of the 32-bit DEB version. It happened with
Ubuntu 11.04 and Mint 11.
This usually happens, when your browser does not transfer sufficient
information to clearly identify your system. With Ubuntu and
Firefox, this is the case.
If it´s not clear whether you need DEB or RPM the website defaults
to DEB.
Please read the hint on the download page:
(When you visit this page, we try to detect your system, and
offer you the right download automatically, but we may not
succeed in all cases.)
Check yourself, what a web server can find out about your system:

In your case, can you find any hint in this result, that tells,
whether you are using a DEB or RPM based system?
